Environmental public health (EPH) is an important contributor to the accreditation process and many PHAB standards and measures specifically involve EPH. The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), in consultation with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), conducted a series of phone interviews as part of an assessment to learn about the steps local health departments take and types of EPH documentation used in their accreditation processes.
