Home visitation programs represent a hallmark of local maternal and child health practice. While home visitation programs may differ in their national or “homegrown” frameworks, each strives to promote and protect the health of mothers and children. NACCHO designed this Home Visitation Compendium to (1) highlight various local health department home visiting programs; (2) assist local health departments in designing new or enhancing existing home visiting programs; and (3) assist local health departments in identifying additional resources and peer assistance to develop and implement home visiting programs.
