The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), through a network of over 209,000 medical and non-medical volunteers organized into more than 980 local units across the United States, improves public health, emergency response, and resiliency of their communities. After celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012, the MRC is expanding its presence across the country and demonstrating its value to local health departments every day. Local health departments can partner with MRC units to supplement existing emergency medical response capabilities and public health infrastructure.
