This research brief is an update to the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) 2007 report “Federal Funding for Public Health Preparedness: Implications and Ongoing Issues for Local Health Officials” and the 2008 research brief “Indicators of Progress in Local Public Health Preparedness,” which evaluated progress in public health preparedness at the local level and the ongoing needs of local health departments, as well as the impact of changes to federal funding for state and local public health preparedness.
