NACCHO undertook a multi-year demonstration project, in partnership with CityMatCH and the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs, to respond to funding cuts and depreciations in the local health department workforce by building capacity to meet the needs of women, children, youth, and families. This brief summarizes the project’s framework and methodology, five local health department experiences, and recommendations for future capacity-building efforts.
