This research brief is an update of NACCHO's 2007 report, “Federal Funding for Public Health Preparedness: Implications and Ongoing Issues for Local Health Officials,” and the 2008 research brief, “Indicators of Progress in Local Public Health Preparedness,” which evaluated progress in public health preparedness at the local level, the ongoing needs of local health departments, and the impact of changes to federal funding for state and local public health preparedness.
